The car is at southeastern dragway in Dallas Ga. That picture was in 1981 and the car did run super pro at that time. I am looking the original owner from 1969 that Arlen Vanke built the car for. The car was built new for Superstock.

No, that is what I am looking for. I have tracked the car back to 1981, I bought the car in 1999. The person that bought the car in 1981 went to Ohio, outside of Akron to pick it up. I have spoke with Arlen Vanke, and showed him pictures of the car. He is certain he built the car in 1969 but, at this time, he is not sure who he built it for.

Lonnie, I talked to two guys yesterday both said there were very few nov's running SS back then. The nova didn't work in any class back then and still don't. They could not think of anybody. I will check some other guys. Kim

Only in the lower classes it seems. SS/J,K,L?? Camaros have always pretty much seemed to be the best suited. 66 and 67's ran good with the 283's in them. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif This is just what I can remember and that ain't much!

I think Bednaz ran (and still runs) a Nova, or two, in Stock or Super Stock.

Marlin, They been around a long time. If anybody would remember they would. I talked to John that runs the B/S I helped build and he doesn't remember any Nova's running in S/S class NHRA

We put them on their trailer last time we raced them. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Ed Bednaz runs in B/S. His son Todd runs in G/SA and I think Ed has a brother who runs maybe H/SA in a 69 camaro. New England boys. I believe Ed ran A/S at the Dutch Classics with the nova last year. Always a good running car.

[/ QUOTE ]I think if Mr. Howies boys beat Ed,it was because Ed was napping or missed a shift. Not because of more horsepower. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif We don't use ethanol back east. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Was the track the car raced at sanctioned by NHRA or AHRA? They might have records of these drivers. I thought Bill Jenkins ran a 68 Nova in Super Stock with L79 and L78. If anybody would know the about Novas in 68-69 in the northeast it would be him, but not sure he ever speaks to anybody. Just some thoughts
