Four crazy South African pilots skim the water with their WWII-era AT-6 "Texan" trainers. They're probably doing about 90-100 mph.

A bit deeper and a wheel digs in enough or the prop touches....yikes? . Bill, is this the same training academy you earned your wings from? . You call 'em Texans, we built them here in Canada as Harvards....tough airframe and still lots of 'em flying all over the world! . Try this trick w/ a WW2 Jap plane and the landing gear would be instantly broken off along with probably half the fuselage! ~ Pete

Yes Pete, Canadian Car and Foundry built hundreds if not thousands of "Harvards" under contract in the WWII era. I've flown in T-6s several times and they are a BLAST. Not exactly a P-51 but not exactly a Cessna 150 either.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this photo was that these guys are serious candidates for a Darwin Award.
