Definitely what baseball was all about. I could not be prouder to be a Minnesotan then in 1987 and 1991! R.I.P. Kirby http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Born and raised a Twins/Vikes fan, he was my favorite player growing up. Still have my collection of 250 or so non duplicate KP cards and the 34 Jersey I got when I was lucky enough to make it up to MN for the 91 postseason.
We wont see many, if any, play the game the way he did.
God this is really sad news.
Since he retired a few years ago from Glaucoma,he balloned up to 300lbs.,and was just now working at slimming down when the stroke occured at age 45..
He really was a good athlete & person. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
