my 68 impala has developed a brake fluid leak in RF wheel area. it apears to be leaking past the piston seals. having a tough time finding any rebuild kits/pistons. not sure what all is needed yet? any recomendations? also are these 4 piston calipers the same as corvette? if so, that will make it a lot easier to locate parts and stainless sleeve service. thanks, dennis davis

Dennis,
If I recall correctly, they are the same as the Corvettes and my '68 came from a Vette brake supplier. Do yourself a favor and get them done right with the S/S sleeves. There are several suppliers of Vette brakes that offer the 4-piston calipers and you can purchase them completed or have them done. I have not purchased any for several years but they were very reasonable then.

I had VB rebuild and sleeve my 68 Z calipers a couple of weeks ago. $99 per wheel--one of the best bargains in the business IMO. The rebuilt calipers look and work great.

You can buy caliper replacement kits from Lone Star muscle, they were half the price the corvette places wanted.

they rebuild fine if there not pitted inside,,takes about 30 mins to slide some seals in them and really dump/flush the old the fluid!!!, if there pitted send them out.

Sent mine to Lonestar a few years ago for S/S re-sleeve.
think it was @$100 for the pair...maybe less.
No problems since.
