Someone had asked about this car a couple months ago, I see Kevin listed his car on Ebay.

Confused.. the car did not get one bid? Not one????

I know it has been for sale for a long time on Kevin's web site. With all of the hype around muscle cars for the last few years I am amazed that this car has not found a new home. This would be a good candidate for Barrett Jackson!!

look under the # of bids, it had action, wicked car!!!

The car had numerous interested bidders.

The car was only on a day and a half and it had a 4 or 5 bids right away. Being listed on Kevins site I can see why it didnt sell it just didnt get the exposure like it would in a magazine or auction, I dont know what the car would be worth top dollar or a Barrett but I know if it was advertised nationally it would have sold long long ago. Thats the first time I ever heard the car was forsale until I did somne reseach and saw it advertised on here 2 or 3 years ago. If you were looking for a car like that and didnt know of Kevin or SYC it would be like finding a needle in a hack stack. The car is on its way to the land of 10,000 lakes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome to the small group of Motion owners my friend. Glad someone got it that will appreciate it! Hope to get to see it at SCR next time?? Hope you will not let it disappear like the gold/black Motion Vette that went through BJ and then dropped off the face of the earth and never seen again.

It's a cool car. I had it in 1987. It was gold when i got it, I painted it black and put it back together after the carbs were stolen, along with a few misc items. We made one aborted pass late one night at Gainesville, with the original owner Chuck driving. Chuck lifted just past half track, Caught the carbs on fire, but 1/8 mile numbers said it was on a low 10 second pass. Not bad after not running for some 10 years.

Chuck ended up getting the car back, it's a long story, but it is probably the most regretfull of all cars I gave up through the years. I paid up for it, $10,000, LOL!

I bought the car from Kevin Suydam and sold it to the present owner, work was done in 1974 by Motion. car doesnt have a title because its been a race car all its life. I know a title has been applied for just incase a guy wanted to change a few things around and drive it on the street. Very Very cool car but very radical motor. Joel Rosen has signed off on it and its a well known car but it take the right guy.

So is the present owner the one that did the whiteout to the work order ?

quick-bowtie
07-17-2006, 05:47 AM
No that was done long long ago..One of the previous owners from before Tim even found the car had tried passing it off as a REAL 69 Baldwin car and changed the date on the paper work to read 1969 when in fact it was done in 74'. Long story short the guy who bought it from the guy who changed the paperwork found out and busted him on it and lawyers got involved and the guy who changed it had to buy it back, there are papers along with the car (names, lawyers, story etc..) In Joels letter documenting the car is also says he did the car in 74' along with the magazine articles on the car.

Isn't this the Mr. 'H's Semi-Hemi car?

quick-bowtie
07-17-2006, 08:31 PM
Dont know why the other date wasnt covered maybe they didnt see that one and thats how the guy found out about the car being done in 74'? Those are the copys that have always been with the car. and yes the car is Mr. H's Semi-Hemi car. There is a magazine article from around 1975 with the car still painted in its original race form. I think it would have been really cool to paint the car back to its race day paint.

Yea, I have that mag article - looks much cooler in the Mr 'H' scheme IMHO. I think it was originally a Z?

Im planning on going anyways it should be a blast if the July Heat goes away.. I'll ask the new owner to bring the car out.. he's not to far from the fair grounds..its worth a try.

Exactly!! I know he needs to sell a couple cars too.. I told him you have to get the cars out so people can see them. And ebay isnt the place for high dollar cars.

The car was on, MSO, I had the MSO, Chuck got it back along with all the paperwork with the car. The paperwork was virgin when I had it.

It was a Z28, Chuck raced it from day one as a stocker until he decided to chase A / MP and sent it to Joel. I am fairly certain it held the record.

Hi Andy,
Sorry to drag this back to the top guys.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I'm not in the market to buy, much to my sadness, but I'm trying to find info and photoes of this car.
The link to the auction has had pics removed.... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I build model cars as a hobby, and the fact that I live down in Aus., and will never afford a BM car, I'm trying to replicate the ZLX 427 in 1/12 scale...
I would like to do it as accurate as possible, to give full praise to the great Supercar that it is.
I fell in love with it, the very first time I saw it on Kevin's site a couple of years ago.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool.gif

I emailed Joel about it some time back, and he suggested I contact Kevin, which I did..but I'm guessing Kevin's email disregarded it as "spam", as I wasn't looking to buy..
I never heard back from him.

If someone can help, I'd be extremely gratefull.
Thanks guys
Greg
