The attached build sheet was sent to me as documentation for a car I was considering. I think its fake.
The all important upper RH corner is missing but the owner claims the 3 boxes above box 109 which are labeled "trim", "paint", "vehicle ident" have the info which belongs in boxes 9, 43 and 44. There are so many things wrong with this build sheet but I want to get your opinions. Also wanted to post this so everybody is aware and can stay clear of this car.

Looks like a window sticker in the background. Did he offer that up as an iron clad original doc as well. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Is this car advertised somewhere on the net ?

I'll bet SS427 Rick would give an opinion. A buildsheet means nothing without the VIN. I say http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Thanks Dave,
I try very hard to keep my opinions to myself unless they are positive. That being said, that is not even good for an amateur. Don't walk, RUN!
I don't necessarily turn a car away if the VIN is missing as there are some other tell tale ways of checking to see if it matches the car if some other numbers are present. However, this sheet is very inacurate in my opinion. I would rather deal on a car with no sheet versus one with a fake sheet.

Howard,is this it?

Poor replica of a build sheet. If the link above is to the car, it's only about five miles from my house.

Rick,
Thats the car on Team Chevelle and that is the window sticker behind it. It looks correct but I don't see a lot of those. Why fake a build sheet when you have a window sticker? It didn't add up and scared me away!
Judge for yourself.

What do the guys at the Chevelle site say about it ? Have they noticed it ? I would think they would pull the ad if it is fake paperwork.

Window sticker could be a repro from Triple A Enterprises, aged in a similar fashion as the fake build sheet http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The build sheet looks like it was typed on a typewriter to me.The font looks nothing like my Leeds build sheets. Also, the way that some of the boxes are filled in are a first for me. Run Forrest...Run!!!!!

Unlike window stickers offered on the internet today...our window stickers are NOT generated with a LAZAR PRINTER. A great deal of TIME and patients goes into every window sticker created
