View Full Version : Source for repo 68 Yenko "Y" center caps???

I have a friend over in Ocala, FL that is building a 68 Yenko clone... we were talkin the other day and he mentioned he couldnt find the "Y" center caps for the Rally II's he had... so i told him id do a little looking... i figure i could post here and mabye have some luck.... any one know of a source??

you may have to make them yourself from lucite.

i dunno anything bout making them...or lucite either. Im just trying to help out a friend really.... but if any of you could help me still im sure he wil greatly appreciate it!

You are going to have to make them, as far as I know there is no source for them. There is not enough demand to reproduce them.
Get a picture of some on someone's car then take an original pontiac one and make a mold from it using model makers silicone.
Then cast them, I inquired about the same topic on the board a year or so ago and also recieved no response, my dad had just cast some parts and I was going to try some 68 centers, I asked a few questions but got nothing.

There are many different sources of info on the web.
Google search on mold making silicone plastic casting etc.

Thanks... if anyone has any tips on this let me know. Im gonna try to make a set to help out my friend. Sounds like a fun project. I might even make a few sets to make a few dollars to pay for my supplies.

Could i produce a short run of these in ABS? .. or is the design under copyright, patents, etc?
