we used to build briggs & strattons for go carts (12yrs old)and they will stand up to about anything you can throw @ them. you can get cams heads pistons etc for them.

Dad and Mo were pretty heavy into carts with Briggs engines...how serious you ask? They had a dyno, flow bench, and a cam grinder! I wish I woulda had 'em build me an engine for my mower!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Of course they were on alcohol...the carts I mean! LOL!! My little bro and Mo's boy got to be pretty good behind the wheel...kinda thought about the Jr. dragster thing, and with 4 kids, the odds are pretty good that I'll be back into the Briggs & Stratton game!

M, did you get to watch Herzog's boy run his Jr. D at SCR8 last year? There are a couple of his runs on the SCR8 dvd...

You have 4 kids? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

You look like you're twelve years old! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good for you! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Yep...10, 6, 4, and 1...started and ended with girls, with the 2 boys in the middle...and as I tell the Pure Stock guys when I get the "4 kids!" reaction:

"There ain't much else to do around here!" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

For about 8 years I had a successful business building Briggs race engines for the Karting crowd. I also had a flow bench, dyno, mills, lathes, cam grinders, etc. I spent many sleepless nights hand working cams! Briggs engines are a blast to compete with either on a cart or JR dragster. Kevin
