View Full Version : vettefest
Does anyone know what vendors will be at vettefest this weekend? I am needing some new goodyears for my ls6 and would like to pick them there instead of having to order them from a resto place and pay over size shipping charges on them?

Oversize shipping charges on tires??? I have bought them several times and do not remember paying outrageous shipping http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I would think any vendors are gonna have their prices jacked up at VF anyway http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Where did you buy your tires from? Ground Up states that they have to be shipped oversize, but does not say what the shipping charge will be only that it's based on weight. I'll have to call them and get a quote.

Anybody know a good way to ship orig. tires ?
I went into a local Sams club type store here.
They have a bin full of multiple size industrial cardboard boxes they leave out for their customers to use.Every size you can think of.
I found 4 boxes that fit the Goodyear F70X14 tire and shipped each one in that by USPS last November. It cost 22.00 a tire to send to California from here.
They got there safe & sound with no padding material needed whatso ever.

All the repro tires that have been shipped to me and the one old stock Firestone tire that I shipped to AZ, just had a shipping label taped on the tread of the tire. Wrapped the clear shipping tape around the cross-section of the tire a few times to make sure the label stayed on there. Worked fine. I have bought repro tires from both Coker Tire and Kelsey Tire in the past.
