Well after a couple of months here in Hawaii to have Corrosion Control and Re-paint. Its now headed back to Alaska and passed by my office this morning. Its sitting on a ship that submerges and they then mount the platform on the deck and then the ship rasises to trasnport it. Pretty neat. Same ship that brought the USS Cole back to the US after it got bombed.

Didn't I see this contraption in Austin Powers? It's one of Dr. Evil's pieces I presume.
Amazing what mankind can do today!

Just found out its not headed back, It was being towed out for testing and then back to dry dock until later and then to Alaska. Still neat seeing it being towed out to open water though

Sea-Based X-Band Radar
Once integrated into the Ballistic Missile Defense
System, the Sea-Based X-Band Radar will track,
discriminate and assess incoming target missiles and will
greatly increase the Missile Defense Agency’s ability to
conduct strenuous, operationally realistic testing of its
Ground-Based Midcourse Defense element.
