Has anyone had any dealings with D&M Corvette in Downer's Grove, Illinois? They have a Corvette that I am interested in and was wondering how reputable they are? Are they usually over priced or are they fairly accurate in thier pricing?

Like any Car dealer, they have their ups & downs.I know many who are Very satisfied with them, and others who say they aren't.
I have bought parts & services from them personally, and I am happy with them for those experiences.
They are local to me,so if there is something you would like to know more about,I would be happy to visit them for you.

My experiences with D&M have always been very fair, and, more than satisfactory.

They have a black 1969 Corvette coupe that I was interested in. Would either of you guys be willing to take a look at it for me?

Just a bit of trivia, check the bio for Dan from American Hot Rod. He used to work at D&M.

Dave Glass, his wife Mary and his crew are first class. They have been in business for almost 20 years.

They know their Corvettes and I have never known them to misrepresent a car!

They were the transport company of choice entrusted to haul many of the Nickey Show case cars to the Vette Fest.

Great people...Dan was a killer painter too...Dave has some pretty cool gassers too...anytime you are in the business of selling anything there will be people who are unhappy....I.ve been to D&M many times ...just to look at the cool stuff he has. Dan bought an all original low mile 62 Catalina tri-power 4 speed 2dr sedan from a cousin of mine..wish I would have bought that one...

Dave is very private, has a lot of really cool stuff. He and Tom Clary met at the Vette Fest and he really wants to go to a Super Car Reunion but he has prior commitments for that weekend.

Danny did lay down some awesome paint on super straight panels. His black cars were some of the best I have seen.

They have quite a bit of talent at that shop. They have a full chassis dyno, they scratch build steet rods, restore top flight Corvettes (they had the Red '66 L72 Roadster at Vette Fest). and restore Muscle Cars.

Dave ran a '33 Willys Gasser with a Hemi back in the day and he still has it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

What could be more important then the SCR? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Was a pleasure to meet Dave, he seemed really nice, and the best part, into old race cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

And I really appreciate his help in getting the Nickey cars to VF.

I used to communicate with Daves brother Dick frequently when he was restoring his 1970 Chevelle SS.
His daughter lives in DG,so it was only a matter of time before we met at a local car cruise.
He lives out of state, but seems like a really nice guy too.

------Dave still has the marlboro maroon 427/435 coupe I sold him before he ever thought about going into business. I took a shadow gray 70 Z28/auto (very nice) in trade. I have watched him open his doors and grow and grow and grow!!! Hes a good guy and deserves his success.........Bill S

------Yup!!! Thats a while back. I bought the car at the Knoxville show (Byrons) and when we got it home to Hinsdale Dave found out about it. The car had been cosmeticly restored by whoever I bought it from and needed a lot of odds and ends straightened out that I just didnt have time to do. Dave bought it anyway and never once complained. Definetly showed me some class. He and Cary re-restored it and I believe it just sits most of time now.........Bill S
