Was reading through the most recent CHP and in the Young Guns section was a piece about a high school auto shop class that was restoring a '69 Camaro. In the article it mentioned that Steve Sandlin DONATED the car that is being restored. Way to go Steve!!!!!! As always, your generosity speaks volumes about the hobby and the people involved. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

Steve is always helping others and asks for nothing in return. Hopefully people come to his aid if ever needed.

Again Steve Sandlin comes through and allows the youth to do something constructive and stay the course. What you read is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Steve and Beth Sandlin when it comes to helping out, I know first hand!!!!

I have yet to see the article but know a little about this donation. The Automotive instructor at the school is my nephew. Steve had a Camaro that he wanted to donate to charity. At the same time my nephew was looking for something to start an after school "Restoration Club", after all he is a gearhead as well. Steve and I had been talking about the car and I mentioned the program to him. He thought it would be a great idea to "keep the next generation of kids interested in, and enthusiastic about, these ole cars helps preserve and maintain the place in automotive history that these cars deserve." Next thing I know the car is here in an enclosed trailer. There are really not enough words to describe how great a person Steve is. As Jeff said this case is just the tip of the iceberg. I am grateful for what he did as well as his friendship. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Cool Deal Darren! Thanks for the more detailed story about what happened.
Where's the "Steve is the MAN" sign?
Like what has been said before...Steve "Get's it"! Happy Easter Steve...and to everyone else!

I find that a lot of times folks get so wrapped up in the what's it worth, where's the docs, how much money am I gonna make off of it, that is reflects badly on the hobby.Taking the time, and effort to help these kids out is what it's really all about. I commend Steve, and anyone else who takes the time to care. At the end of your days when they chuck you in the ground, people won't remember you so much for what you've owned, as how you've touched their lives. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
