Anyone?
I picked this up Saturday and the story is it was the original spare in the trunk of a 72 Chevelle. I am thinking about using it as a spare for my 71 Nova but the tire is dated later than my car and I can not find the rim in my book.
As you can see from the pics, this tire and rim have never been on a car, still has a label on the tire yet. I can only find a small spot of weather checking on the sidewalls.
Thanks for any help.
Dan

Dan,

------Believe it or not, Dan, I dont think that tire came on that rim. Im pretty sure its an over-the-counter tire. Others will chime in, Im sure. Dont have a clue on the rim. Sorry........Bill S

Thanks, was hoping someone knew what the rim was from. I could not find it in the 70-75 Numbers book, was hoping someone would check the earlier book for it but no such luck yet.

The tire and rim are from 1979. If you look at the center cutout it is not round like those found on the 1969 cars. The one shown is almost five sided.
The rim codes are as followed.

K = Kelsey Hayes
2 = Windsor Ont. (manufacturer)
9 = year date 1979
11 = November
27 = day of the month
RH = Application. (I found the RH code under in the cross reference book. RH 1978-83 Malibu, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, etc..)

Thanks, Now I have to think up a new story!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif,
Naw, I'll still stick in the trunk of the Nova, not too many people will know the difference and if they do, oh well. It will still look good.
Hey Rick, maybe you want it since it has your initials. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Thanks again!!

Nah, got enough rims. Nice thought though.

Put the rim in the car and with the jack base screwed down in the center nobody will know the difference. Add a little tire dressing and bingo, looks great.

Good luck.
