I spoke with someone today that is going to Greg Longs shop this week to get some parts that are his. Greg is in jail waiting to be sentenced on May 5th. If someone can prove they have stuff at his shop they should get in touch with his attorney. I have her name and #. Also I have the # of the guy that is going there so if you do have something there he can look for it before you make a trip.

I another thread we discussed Greg - - he ripped me off on an NOS SS hood with a repo hood. I contacted his office or home and ending up talking to his mother....she was interested in fixing the situation with me...thus send me a cashier check (just deposited) for the complete expense i incurred including mailing the hood back to her. She was quite pleasant about it, i sent her the documentation and she immediately issued the refund.

Peacefully resolved.....just thought you all might want to know and if you got hit, maybe you will have as good as luck as i did. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

His mother had sent me some Email that I shared with only a few.......Glad that Ed M was made good........I have no idea, as to the nice sounding mothers financial situation...I can only hope she's not using her living money to make good on her son's debts..........

selling parts as nos and sending repo stuff, like cross rams..this is what i heard...there is some info posted by charlie in the other thread....maybe some other problems, im not up to speed on the whole story, but just tried to work my problem thru to get a refund etc....i hear he is in jail waiting for sentencing. His family was very considerate and responsive to make the issue right. The best anyone can ask for....

Its good that you got something back but I see it as a way to show the judge that hes trying to make things right and hope for a lesser sentence. Or should I say his mom is trying to make things right hoping that her son will get off easier.

I agree - there is motivation on their part.....i consider myself lucky.....there is a high degree of trust inthe whole internet system...and generally it works well....

I recieved this link from a Member at Team Chevelle once he read my post below. I just thought I'd share it with you also. Thank you, Gary

I was just made aware of the posts available on this site yesterday about Greg Long and DPE. One year ago I had a 69 Camaro SS 396 delivered to me fresh out of the paint shop by a gentleman who wanted me to complete the restoration for him. He had owned the car over 20 years and had tracked down and found the original big block that had been removed at some point. He told me that I should have the engine delivered to my shop within a few weeks by a machinist up north. He had sent DPE the basic long block with several original componets along with several thousand dollars for DPE to return a complete date code correct, carb to pan engine.
In Sept. 05' I had my first contact with Long to discuss the delay of the delivery. It was one 'song and dance" after another ending with my last conversation in Dec. where the engine had moved up in line for dyno testing to the number 10 spot. He had previously told me that it was in the number 17 spot. That was in October.
During our very first conversation, I had mentioned my personal X66 project. I was amazed at his immediate pitch for me to send my VIN# to him so he could provide me a copy of the original invoice, build sheet and second owners protecto plate. Playing as an impressed and unknowing potential customer, I had mentioned to him that it was my understanding that some of the info he was trying to sell me was not available. His response was that "it is if you know the right people". I then had to listen to 20 minutes of uninteruptable BS about how great he was, who he knew, what he has accomplished and his amazing inventory of one of a kind cars, drivetrains, etc. When the call was finally over, I turned to my wife and told her that I just had a conversation with the most arrogant scammer I've ever run across and that Sammy (victim) was in big trouble. Sammy has not been able to reach Long since Dec. Obviously he was busy in court.
Sammy will be calling the local authorities today to try and find out if he has any chance at recovering his engine and hopefully he'll try to press more charges on Long.
Personally, I hope he never see's a free day again. This guy has taken away a twenty year quest from someone who truly had a pure vision of restoring his dream car. The type of person who has willingly invested more money and time into something that he knows may never come back to him except in a personal level of enjoyment.
I am an enthusiest of muscle cars. Have been for 32 years. Contractor by trade that takes on occasional side work primarily to supplement my hobby. We work a little extra sometimes to be able to enjoy certain things. People like Long are willing to take that from us to supplement thier own hobby, greed, without having any concience about it at all. I say throw away the key.

Thanks,
Gary
