I have a 70 Chevelle built at Van Nuys the first week of June 1970 it has 396/350 with TH400 and a/c. What's the correct color and number of driveline stripes for this car? Did 70 Chevelles have stencils on the drive shaft? Which parts have paint daubs and what color? Is this info in a book or accessible in some reference manual.
I'm sure a couple of you guys know and wil share this info, so Thanks in Advance!!

There is a lot of info about what "should" or "could" have been on a car, as far as inspection markings and such.
My opinion is to put back what you find on the car. I document every marking, and replicate those only. If I find nothing, nothing goes back on the car. I have yet to see two cars with all of the same markings, and once you start to get "creative", it can get to be overwheled with them.
JMO. And no comment regarding myself or chalk is needed from Charley http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It wasnt me http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I've yet to see a part number stenciled on the driveshaft on one like yours.
The driveshaft band colors for your example were Blue-Black.

Howard, I have a 70 Chevelle that we are doing a chassis detail on. This is a code 34 (Misty Turquois) Kansas built car L34 350 h.p. TH400 with a/c. We found the original driveshaft as pictured. Hope this helps. Don

Albert, I bought that car about a year ago because of the rare color with a Build Sheet. I just did an underhood and chassis detail and probably will sell it this summer. Thought I could get my wife to drive a Chevelle but she'd rather drive her mini van. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
There's a Misty T running around Downers.

Cool Rick! I've never seen another locally. We'll have to travel to the south side this summer! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
