firstgenaddict a member here has just provided me with some additional photos of my car from 1990. At the point he took the photos the car is still in its origianl paint. James recently found some good shots of the cowl area and we were able to confirm the numbers on the tag. I am really grateful for his help and to the forum here which provided the ability to do this. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Bill, I can't believe I never responded to this but I was glad to unite the photos with the car and it's care taker.

As a little story and of my own history to go along with that car...

First...
We are a car family, my mom drove a 67 Camaro Conv and my dad restored flat head Fords, I came home from the hospital in a 68 442. My brother and I had 70-73's as first cars and I was driving a IROC Z by graduation. I had a numbers matching Lemans Blue 68 RS/SS 396 which I was buying up NOS parts for and was already restoring.

Then here it is 2 months from graduation Spring of 1990, at Charlotte Motor Speedway spring swap meet and car corral and I come walking up on a 1968 Lemans Blue RS/Z with Houndstooth, I was very interested (it's the only car I took pictures of) I talked to the original owner, he was from south of Columbia, South Carolina, it was unrestored, just pulled out of the storage barn where it been since the late 70's. original paint and the original carpet was in the car the smog and the original shifter were in the trunk. The car was damaged on the top of the pass fender and pass side of the hood from a ceiling rafter which broke and fell during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. I think he wanted $7,500 or so for it.

I wanted that car as a twin to mine at the time and had wondered for years what it's fate had been...
When I saw your car I had to go find the pics, the same car!

I am happy to know it continues to be in good hands... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

Here are two scans I found on an old CD.
Now days we would never restore the car, it would have been touched up and driven.

James, thanks again for all your help with this. I can't believe that it has been more than 6 years since the original post. Here is the car today. I have not done much to it other than changing the oil and keeping it clean. It was repainted and cleaned up under the hood prior to my getting it. I am very fortunate to have it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/billdamsky/102_1123.jpg
