I just picked up what is supposed to be a 5460346 "WT" stamped power disc master cylinder for a 68 Camaro. On the pad where the WT is stamped the only letter visible is a "W". Is there a way to identify the cylinder as a genuine WT other than from the stamping? The pad where the W is stamped appears to be unaltered.

Bill,

The "WT" on my M/C is VERY lightly stamped. I really had to look hard to see it. I've enclosed a picture for you, and you can see that it's very difficult to make out. I would imagine your "T" is there, but like mine, stamped very lightly. Also, the stamping they used isn't like the normal engine stamps you see. I'm not sure what the font is called, but the closest thing I could find is "Arial Narrow" in my picture editor. My camera doesn't do macro, so this is the best I could get. Perhaps someone else can get you a better picture.

Ed, Thanks. The W that I have matches the style of your photo as well as matching up with another WT that I have. My problem is that I only have the W visible and the W is so far to the right on the pad that it looks like it should be the second letter of the code not the first.
