You know the old saying "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes..and it will change".....well that sure applies to NY this week. We have gone from almost 90 down to 40...we even have a fire in the fireplace tonite http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Supposed to clear up tomorrow and then be nice for a few days....I'll let you know for sure when i wake up tomorrow and look out the window http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well...it was 112 degrees here today...felt like 120!

I spent the last two days at Bartlett Lake giving jet ski rides to spine damaged, severe brain injured, paraplegics, quadraplegics and a host of other things. Our company donates 8 watercraft to use for two days....for the Barrows Neurological Institute's "Day on the Lake".

What a TOTALLY rewarding 2 days. These people wait all year to have fun "Like normal people" for these two days...Here are a few shots...

Sorry Tom for the hijack!

A paraplegic getting ready to outrigger ski...they are strapped onto the ski...and the jetskis and boats that you see act as chasers and are there to help when they're needed! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Last two...

Daisy, who has cereberal palsy...is getting ready to go out for the second time...She has a twin sister, too.

I took Daisy on her first ride...she's fearless! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Here's a boy going out to have fun. Notice the cushions which are there to help when they have no lower body control

Thanks for sharing that story...great stuff!! My Karen teaches skiing at a local mountain in the Adaptive Program. Lots of folks with similar challenges getting to have some fun. It is amazing to see someone go from a wheelchair to the ski lift...kind of puts everything else in perspective.

To be honest...I look forward every year for this weekend, too! These are really cool people...with awesome stories and adventures to tell.

Pete...we had a couple of supercharged and intercooled watercraft out there, too. RXP's and RXT's...215hp in a water craft.

Plus, we same some Yamahas, too http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
