My beloved '70 z28 almost died yesterday.
About a week ago the air conditioning for my house went out and I ended up having a new compressor and air handler installed. Apparently when they installed the air handler, which sits in an attic above my garage, they didn't make sure the drain was unplugged. That resulted in water over flowing above my garage and getting absorbed by the insulation. Naturally after a few days the wet ceiling could no longer support the water logged insulation and down came 2/3's of my garage ceiling.
Fortunately, there is a wall in the garage that seperates the 3rd stall from the other 2 and none of the ceiling over the 3rd stall fell. The Camaro has spent everyday I've owned it in the "big" part of the garage, but I moved it last week to the third stall to get it out of the way since the air handler sits right above where the Z is normally parked and the air conditioning guys needed to get up there.
Had the car been where it usually sits it would have been creamed. Not only did the ceiling fall, but about 10 BIG tupperware type storage boxes came down with it. I'll bet some weigh 40-50lbs. Can you imagine the damage that would have caused?
If I didn't own that car I'd probably be mad as hell that my ceiling fell in, but I'm so happy the cars ok I"m not even that upset..LOL!
