also, I have a correct dated and rebuilt 1108430 starter which is for a turbo400 I believe. (ie. it was off the ctc motor that is in jensens deuce). I have always bolted any old delco unit on a car sometimes requiring differing length bolts but never paid much attention to the numbers on these. can anyone tell me if there is a difference between this starter and the correct for deuce starter other than number? If not, I may use it for now and keep an eye for the correct one. thanks ahead of time!!

There is no difference for the deuce starter motor application.
The 1970 350-4bbl.,400-4bbl.,402-4bbl.,454-4bbl.engines all used the #418 starter w/Man Trans., & the #430 starter w/Auto Trans.
The only difference between these two was the Nose housing material.#418 used steal,#430 used Aluminum.

Old Motor Manuals have a break down according to each make. They also have the numbers for the alternators and distributors in them, at least in the `72 dated one I have.
