We are having a run of nice dry sunny weather, so I had the COPO delivered from its garage on Saturday morning. I decided that my son Max (3.5 yrs) was due his first COPO ride. I lucked out because I got down to the area around Buckingham Palace just before they closed the streets for some kind of ceremony or other. Normally you can't stop anywhere near the Palace and the Mall (the main ceremonial boulevard that leads from the Palace to Trafalgar Square) is full of traffic.

I hope you enjoy these few pics:

Not exactly the Power Tour, but Max had a lot of fun! He woke me up at 545am this morning (Monday) asking for another ride. Work sucks http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Oh, and I know the tires are wrong. Max pointed that out to me too...

Very cool pictures; what kind of response does that car get? Do the Londoners even know what it is?

I ordered new gas yesterday. I run Sunoco Supreme (114RON, 110MON), which is the NASCAR spec fuel. The bring it in from the States in bulk and break it down. It costs...

...$20 - $24 per gallon, depending upon what size you order.

At least that includes delivery to my house. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

People love it. It's funny in a way because their are so many Lamborghinis and Ferraris running around all making their obnoxious noise (I don't know if you've heard a F340, yuck), that my car really stands out, especially now with the headers on it. There are lots of American car buffs here, but they tend to be interested in the late 50s/early 60s big cars (either stock or customized). There are lots of muscle cars too.

People generally ask what it is and how big the engine is. Many ask if it's a Mustang, I guess because of the Shelby road racing cars being more prevalent here. I end up doing a bunch of this http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif, but I don't mind. Last night I was messing around in Hyde Park and threw the fan belt. While I waited for the car to cool down so I could put it back on, a bunch of people stopped by to look at the car. A couple from Saskatchewan, a Russian guy, a German, etc. Muscle cars have a universal appeal http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

This taxi dropped some people off in front of my house (though the archway) this afternoon. See anything interesting?
