Elvis on Friday night on a outdoor stage.....man this is a good show. I have been attending this for the last few years and it is a great Cruise In Friday night with over 1200 cars showing up and Judged Car Show on Saturday. They judge and pick the top 100 on Friday night and there is a show on Saturday with a lot of classes!

It's for a great charity and it's fun time for the whole family. The Friday night show with Mike Albert as ELVIS is one not to miss.

Thank you....thank you very very much.......

Ladies and Gentleman....Elvis has left the building~

Dennis, I have yet to make it to a Friday Night Cruise, almost always because of the weather. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I will be parked with the Camaros on Saturday, with a DO NOT JUDGE sign on my car. It's worth the price of admission just to get to park with all of the unbelivable cars there. Plus you get a t-shirt and don't have to walk as far. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

FYI http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif
For anybody coming into Columbus for the GoodGuys show, (which is 4 time the size of the Immke show http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif), there is a Saturday nite local club cruis'in at the Hooters on the East side of town. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Main street off of I-270.
Highly subjective judging and a lot of trophies! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Anyone see the berger COPO Camaro on display on Saturday? Car was originally Lemans Blue now Fathom Green. Car's claim to fame was the detailed photos of the BE rear and the original PN# on the gear set. Looked to be the real deal. PT' club had a huge showing as did the Mustang's, and huge Porsche turnout.

I took an import tuner out of the garage and much to my suprise - won an award of Excellance. I am kind of shocked. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif.

Show organizers are attempting to turn this show into more of a "Pebble Beach" type show and by the looks they are doing it. Total car count was over 1300. Camaro's, Chevelles, Nova's, and Corvettes (I estimate) totaled only about 150.

That was my COPO, Phil, and it's Black. It will be at the SCR with the airbrushed hood that came with the car. (BTW, this will be the first time ever that my car has been trailered to a show.)
See the January 2006 feature car for the story.
Tom Clary told me in 2000 when the Central Ohio Camaro Club hosted the Camaro Nationals that my car was the coolest car there. Best complement I've ever gotten on my car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Your '70 was at that show jacked up with one front wheel off to showcase the disc brake detailing. Best bar none. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
I will be posting some pics of the show later when I finish my honey-do list. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

OOPS, sorry Sun was really bright and I had my Sunglasses on and the car looked like dark Fathom Green. Black it is!! Nice COPO!

BTW I did a two wheel Brake display that year at the 2000 nationals and did the same earlier in '98 at SCR-2 http://www.yenko.net/reunion/pbz28.jpg http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool.gif

Here are some of the cars that were at the show, I have tried to limit the long list of Marques to the ones close to where I was parked.
The PT Cruisers. They were everywhere. 100's of them. Please, for the love of God, make it stop...

that R code Galaxie took 1st in the class i put the W31 in(factory stock),but i have no idea how a 69 Charger with a 3 foot long MSD distributor sticking out of the motor took 2nd place.

Hi Andy, Saw your car, but didn't see you. Talked to some of the people running the show while I was judging and they claim the PT bunch brings in about 10 grand to the show. Who knows? Anyway the show went well about 1170 cars on Friday nite cruise-in. Something was fishy again in the Camaro class. The read 67 Z got 2nd place, while the 1st place winner (2 years running) also received Best of Show with a brush painted frame. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

i went to the friday cruise-in, took the day off to get there early to get a good spot. it really started filling up after 5:00pm. i am not really a ford guy but those 2 428 rag top mustangs and the 64 427 galaxie were super nice. it seems that show really brings the odd ones out of the woodwork. went to goodguys saturday as spectator untill my legs gave out, thats a lot of walking. i wonder how they judge so many cars at that event? dennis http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
