Not sure of the spelling. Fahrenbach Chevrolet in Decatur Illinois is apparently where my L78 Camaro came from. I was told by an original owner that it was the place to go to in that area for HiPo cars. Only thing I know is that it is called Miles Chevrolet now...

Anyone know anything about this dealer?

Don't really know anything about Fahrenbach but we drive past Miles when we visit my wife's sister a few miles South of there (Mt. Zion). We're in the vicinity fairly often. I'll do some snooping the next time! I'm guessing you'll take ANYTHING we come up with? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

i grew up in Clinton, 20 miles from there, its Miles now, my parents have lived in the area for years. Call Baum Chevrolet in Clinton and ask to speak to Scott Baum, he is heavily into cars, he can probably give you background on the dealership itself. I just emailed my father, he hits some yards up in the area (409 guy) and asked him to stay on the lookout for dealer emblems or license plate frames.

Well I finally got around to making some phone calls today. Apparently in 1970 the dealership was called El Bauer Chevrolet. Then in 1972 the name changed to Fehrenbach Chevrolet. So it looks like I need to shift gears a bit and search for El Bauer items and info. Thanks for the leads Jason. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Upon arriving home this evening I was greeted with a surprise. Joe Barr sent me his only copy of the El Bauer dealer decal which is where my 70 Camaro came from. I'd like to thank him for being so kind hearted to give it to me. Never asking for a dime, he told me he'd rather see it on my car than in his collection. What a cool guy. I'd also like to thank Frank for eyeing my thread here and posting that picture.
