I have a friend that is looking for a 1969 SS/RS 396 that is an original tuxedo black car. He is open to horse power ratings (325hp, 350hp and 375hp) but it needs to be a four speed car. He would possibly consider a color changed car also, but would prefer a real black car. If anyone has any leads on one of these cars please drop me a PM. I apprecaite any help anyone can provide. I look forward to hearing from you. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse

I believe Doug Moorehead, who with his brother Ken, who ran and operated the US Camaro Club, purchased a SS/RS Tuxedo black L34 car. I believe he lives in Florida, you might try contacting him and see if it is for sale.

Thanks a ton for the lead and heads up on the car. Would you happen to have any way to contact him about the car? I have heard of the US Camaro Club but never contacted them for anything as of yet. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciatted. Thanks again and have a great day and weekend. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse

I have a non numbers matching 1969 SS RS 396 4-speed with a new 540 in it. The car was originally Cortez silver with black hounds tooth. It is now white with black deluxe interior. The car is very nice and I will sell it minus the aftermarket parts if you want to go to the restored look. I listed the car about a month ago in the classified section. My e-mail address is [email protected] or call me at 714-962-7650

Here is a current picture with the TTO wheels. I know it is not your preferred color but the car is very nice.

I think the black rs ss car purchased by the US Camaro club was featured in their magazine. If its the same car, it was one that I owned in VA back in 95. They did a nice job on the resto for the car.

Mark you have a very nice car it looks great in the members rides section. I know I wouldn't mind having it sitting in my garage but I don't have the cash or the space for it. I talked to my friend about your car and he thought that it looked really nice but he is really looking for a black SS/RS 396 car only. I wish you the best in selling it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse

Jesse, unfortunately i dont have any follow up info on it after it was in the mag in 96. Ill check with a friend who may know, but he has switched from tracking and playing with camaro's to firebirds for a while now.

Ed, I appreciate any information that you are able to come up with. If nothing turns up at all thanks a ton for the effort. It is very appreciatted. I know that black cars are hard to come by then when you add the SS/RS and big block to it that narrows it down even more. I look forward to hearing what you come up with. Thanks again. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse

Thanks for the heads up, but yeah we ran across that one. I had a picture of the trim tag posted on this site and it was a repop or fake tag. That really stunk but I guess it's better than buying a bum car and finding out later after you drop a bunch on cash on it. If you see any others please let me know. I would really appreciate it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse

I hear you on that one. It stinks that you need to look them over that close. I guess you really can't trust anyone these days. The sad part was the guy selling this car didn't have a clue that it was fake. He bought it as a frame off car five years ago. It's great to have a site like this that helps us car guys from getting taken to the cleaners. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gifhttp://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Jesse
