steering box adjustment..

Looking for tech input on adjusting the "play" in the steering box on the 70 project Nova. Steering is definately loose and the front end parts are in good shape. I can move the wheel quite a bit before things start to happen. Checked my 70 service manual and it sounds pretty involved. A lot more than just loosening the jam nut and tightening the worm gear...though I have done that before http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Any help and advice would be appreciated. Should have wrapped it around a tree, then set it on fire,

Tom... check your front shafts and then go for a steering alignment...
Also you might have a bent drag link... have your mechanic check the caster of both wheels..
try to get the caster to "positive degrees" on both wheels...
