FYI, bigger Hemi may be coming:

Muscle cars
Hemi displacement stretching to 6.6 liters?

DaimlerChrysler has already confirmed that it will build the new Dodge Challenger and arm it with a 6.1-liter, 425hp Hemi V-8, the same rating as the legendary street Hemi of 1966-1971.
The car itself is based on the wildly popular Chrysler 300, but has styling cues from the original 1970 Challenger. DaimlerChrysler has one-upped GM which, while announcing a new Camaro, has not officially given us a production date. However, the new Challenger will be offered to the public in 2008.
Now, sources tell Hemmings Motor News that DaimlerChrysler engineers are working on a 6.6-liter Hemi V-8 for the Challenger. Details were not available, but a source told us the new engine should really put the Challenger over the top and that company officials want to come out of the gate with a real performance car.
We have driven some SRT8 vehicles and they are formidable performers.

let's see 6.6 liters, 392 cubes...ring a bell? it'll pump alot closer to 500H.P. would be my guess. I guess Chevy is gonna need to give us the Z-06 motor in the new Camaro to keep up. How awesome is that gonna be?

Surprising move by DaimlerChrysler SW Engineers new 7.2 Liter SuperHemi or the 440 CUI engine

HEMIBLOG, SRTMOPAR.COM - - - We have seen the first of the line of DaimlerChrysler Hemi engines starting with the 5.7 liter in 2002. Next it was the 6.1 liter Hemi in 2005 with advent of the Chrysler 300 SRT8. Last year surprise at SEMA revealed to us a SkunkWerks bored out, tweaked, and massaged 6.4 liter Hemi. Allpar insiders released rumors of the ‘Phoenix Project’ to update the V-6 line of powerplants that closely resembles the 5.7 liter Hemi engine design and may add some spin offs. So what’s left?

Are you sitting down? Now take a deep breath…here it is

Few months ago, an insider leaked that SW engineers purposed a gapper motor between the soon-to-be SRT’s 6.4 liter Hemi and the Viper ‘8.4 liter’ V-10. What is known, the powerplant is currently being worked via the west coast at one of the SkunkWerks engine sub-contractors facilities, dubbed the 7.2 liter Super-Hemi or known as the 440-cubic motor. Talk about retro and remembering the old days, a theme that now ringing in my ears is the title – ‘Good Times are here again,’ this heavy weight giant motor supposed to reside on a new block and may be shared with the Gen II 6.1 liter Hemi.

What is known from another source, this engine should get the latest patent updates and was designed to handle force induction. Think future MOPAR crate drag motors. Another key part of this new block, it was also designed for future performance increases over the projects lifespan.

So now you are wondering what the expected output is. Let see...would 605-Horsepower - - 605-lbs of Torque be ok? Like me, you may have to use the bathroom to change out that underwear from the premature leakage .

As we draw closer of an anticipated first look, we will be there sobbing with joy… always remember, rumors are rumors until officially shown.

I hate to say it but I think DC is handing the General it's ass in both styling and performance.
