My Intention is to find the original owner of my car and also find the original selling dealership. Is there an easy way to do this? A friend mentioned the NICB, and something to do with having to know someone in law enforcement. I am not clear on the proper way to
research this information.
Anyone have any experience in tracing back to the original owner and selling dealer?http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif
Thanks in advance!

This probably won't help you, but... I have original paper, pop, dealer invoice, etc, for my 68 Chevelle So I just looked the original owners name up in a site for phone numbers and got lucky with the 1st call. I found his 80 year old father who signed for the car in 1968, and he hooked me up with his son. I've talked to him several times, and he even came up from Ala to CB06 in Nashville to see the car he bought in 1968. He sent me a pic of the car. This was taken shortly after he bought it from C.D. King Chevrolet in Russleville, Alabama in June of 68...

Is your car from Maryland, or a prior owner in MD?

Andy,
Good idea! I will get some pictures up. I had pictures on another
website and the site crashed. Let me work on the pictures .
Marlin,
The car is not from Maryland. From my understanding this car originally came from upstate NY. I found the car in Plainfield NJ. When I bought the car I discovered numerous time slips from Raceway Park.

Around Albany? The Potter Bros will probably know all about it then, being that he's the mayor of Fishkill 'an all that' http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Call George at GM Canada Vintage Services and they'll run the Vin for less than $50. . Not sure if they have to ding you the dough if it's a no-go? .
If it's a hit and is a Canadian car, it's a jackpot of bulletproof documents! .
George is a great guy....he haunts this site occasionally as vintagegz.
