Daniel, while we are waiting for Nils, is there anything you would like to add about this COPO ?
Did you restore it ? Is it a double-COPO ? etc.

If I am not mistaken, Camaro Specialties did the car (from Upstate, NY).
I'll let Nils fill in the rest of the details... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, Camaro Specialties restored the car. The car is beautiful and better seen in person.

Sorry for the late "reply". Wešve been working on something here, that will hopefully if XPLANTDAD allows be seen in the members car area soon. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the nice words.

The story is like this, i was visiting Niagra Falls for USCC show in the summer of 99, at that show, i for the first time in my life saw COPOs, and Yenkos. I knew what it was, and had until that point read everything i could about them. I got goose bumps, and for those seeing me there, probably still speak about the crazy norwegian that where admiring their cars for litteraly hours. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I was so lucky, that Brian Henderson had his Fathom Green, black stripe, L88 69 Yenko there, he was nice enough to take me for a ride, I WAS IN HEAVEN, and it wasnt one of those, lumping around at idle rides, he made that car SCREAM, just like an L88 should, i held contact with him, and where close to pull the trigger on purchasing it, i never ended up pulling the trigger, the combination of high exchange rate, and not enough guts to do it maybe slowed me a bit, remember this was also almost before the internet, so doing stuff from Norway meant a lot more hands on than nowadays... But i will never ever forget the ride, and the nice stories the supercar workshop included me in at that show..I am also on a daily basis beating myself up for not buying the car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I decided a few years later that i would need something similar, i found this car, Fathom Green, M22, Endura, Rallys and so on. Camaro Specialties restored it, with Jimmy in the back shop you cant go wrong, all the details is taken care of, and Fine Line Collision did the paint, and body work which by the way, without trying to sound like a brag bag, is truly truly awesome, it has just the right mix, like a fg car has to have, and looks sinister..

I brought the car, together with a Vette home this spring, and want to express a big thank you to NORM HALLET who hauled the cars for me to Jersey City, for loading in the container. (he knew Wilma, and we where supposed to visit, but time didnt permit it, i would love to see your Novas.)Anyone with transport needs, can safely use him, very helpful, and nice guy.

One of my goals with the car, was to attend the biggest show in Europe, which is just this show, the judges here are in the restoration business, and car business themselves, and doing good here, means that it up to US standards. I wont take it to many more shows, i have lately grown a bit tired of the show thing, i really like the motor stuff for the time beeing. To bad we didnt meet Anders.

Again, thanks for the nice words, and Dan thanks for letting me know, this is a good site for the stuff we all like, and even though i am not posting that much, i find lots of useful information, and stuff here everytime i am on. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I was there on Saturday and missed the car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I heard the other guys in Camaro Club Sweden, that was there on Friday when Nils showed the car, telling me about the judges comments on this remarkable car. These judges are good and know their stuff and they have seen a lot. Even though the meeting is large only ten percent (at the most) of the cars are near show quality. Most of the attendees are just there for the meet and enjoying it.

Anyway the standard of the cars that goes before the judges are top notch and the winners here would most certainly score high on any event in the US. So when the judges here get impressed there is something really special. In this case they were just shaking their heads in disbelief. They even called down the folks from the stand in the judging area to come down and look at this fantastic car.

I am sorry that you didn't show the car on Saturday Nils, it would have made a great article in our club magazine that I am the editor of.

I'll guess I have to make a trip to Norway next summer. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
