Ok, next Baldwin Motion question, does the correct emblem fill the rectangular cutout on BB valve covers or not? I've seen pictures that have them smaller and pictures that have them filling it out. Thanks in advance, you guys have been really helpful.

Both styles were used. There was a larger rectagular emblems that needed the ends cut off to fit in the recessed area of the cover, and smaller ones that fit into the recess without modification.

OK, so either one is correct? Did they vary by year? They are going on a 68 Camaro.

Well, in all actuality, the emblems weren't used at all until late 69.

What would have been on a 68?

Rumor has it that Joel used the cut down, larger emblems when he was out of the smaller ones, they sold alot of sets of these covers mail order, don't know if that is dead true, just what I heard. SULLY

More than likely just the stock chrome GM covers with a Motion decal.

Most of the time I saw MP stickers or a Motion Supercar Club sticker on the factory chrome valve cover but they were usually made of Mylar---

The emblems were available after the summer of '69,I was told late '69 ,but could have been in '70--When I got around to picking up a pair, it was the smaller version. There is a lengthy discussion , in Baldwin Motion on the timelines......Seems the larger ones came out first and had to be cut........

The finned covers (with or without the Motion emblems) were not GM pieces, nor were they used by Motion in 68. I was referring to the stamped steel chrome plated GM covers as the ones being used on 68 Motion cars. Those chromed finned ones do look nice though!
