Ok I read that thread.. confusing... looks like there were many different versions fo these made.. nevertheless, is $250 for one of these too much to pay???? I also will need a fly wing T for mounting it.. where can I get one of those.. will this fit on a Holley 650? what about the dangers of carborator backfire.. I read about.. dont want to put one of these on my car and have it ignite

They surely don't do much for cleaning the incoming air. They will fit a 650, or ay holley 4 bbl for that matter. $250 is a bit pricey without the mounting pieces. I personally would hold out for a complete one. 30 is alot for one guy to have, but he does not have the market cornered. And yes, they will go up in flames. I personally prefer the factory open element.

no mystery here boys, they are mine.. they are real and are NOS in the box.
I have seen two styles of clips some round rod and some with the flat clips and that is in old magazine pics and what I have seen on cars. both are correct, both were mass produced and sold as cheap'o air cleaners, but as we know most flamed up and were tossed in the garbage can....you do the math, how many are left??? crap edgy units sell for 100 125... so a perfect new one is worth????
the price is very fair for a nos piece of chrome, price some of the other crap we need for our cars and if its NOS its not cheap, anyone have a NOS '67 SS Camaro air cleaner for 300??? I will take it in a heartbeat. hell these were mass produced they cant be worth the metal there made of right???
not sure where the quantity of 30 came from...I had a box of 9 and that was it.
the box is US mail dated and it was not last week.
discuss this all you want, dont matter to me,
Edelbrock has the exact brackets for these, if a 3 dollar bracket breaks it for you, keep on shopping.

$250.00 ain't crap if you need one or want one! Damn look at the prices of some of the parts are going for nowdays! These are NOS and $250.00! If you need one and don't jump on one of these then you are CRAZY! I don't care for the elements that they come with but I personally would get me a K&N filter element and modify it to fit this breather and save the NOS foam piece. I personally run an open element filter but If I wanted that Motion look or whatver else they came on I sure would not hesitate to jump all over one of these! Plus the man says they are NOS!What else do you want! Bud I will send you my address for my comission on any sales! LOL! Seriously though $250.00 for a real NOS FLY EYE BREATHER! That is very cheap in my book! If some people had them they would probably be $500.00 a piece! If I had them they probably would be $300.00. I bet there are not many REAL NOS ones left out there!

I have to agree with Mr.BBIG and Bud. I purchased one of the "Motion" air cleaners from Bud. Pricey? Yeah! Needed one? Of course! I have yet to see a nice used that was any where near nice enough for my Day 2 V8 Vega project. And I had one of the same on my V8 Vega in the late 70s. And the element was/is crappy. But what the heck. I love it!

It was not my intention to step on anyone's feet. I also did not realize the brackets could still be had. I am sure hey have, and will sell for much more than $250.

Can I get an Amen..... : http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I had pretty good luck with these air cleaners...They'll usually light up if you let them go too long without changing or cleaning the foam filter, due to fuel and dust residue in the foam filter--Every now and again if I didn't change the filter,--I would take the foam filter out and dunk it in a bucket of water ----you can add some mr clean or similar grease cutter if you want , squeeze out the excess water and put the filter back .--It seemed to work....

amen, father Denis.
I would not run the foam, I have suggested to the guys to run screen door mesh, thats my plan when I slap one on, no worries about having a problem then I would think???
oh and there 300 not sure where 250 came from, just so we dont have someone upset down the road.

I bought one from Bud. I am currently running it on my L78. I threw 2 pieces of aluminum screen in there. I love it!
