Will a subframe from a Nova fit a Camaro? Mine is a 68 Camaro, I don't want to get burned buying the wrong one. Looking on ebay, some ads say yes, some don't mention it. Thanks in advance.

I had the same question a few years back when I bought one for my Camaro. To the best of my knowledge, 68-74 Nova subframe will work on your Camaro. There may be some minor differences with some of the holes, but for the most part, they are the same.

Yes. Check the mounting holes though. They rust at those holes and sometimes need to be repaired. Not a big deal.

Minor differences as in the punched holes or mounting holes?

The 4 mtg holes will be the same.I seem to remember that 67 camaro have 2 holes on each side of the frame horn (rad support area) while 68 on camaro, and nova have 3. I can't remember if there's a difference in 73 74 nova subs due to the change in bumper mtg. I'm sure your safe 68 through 72 on novas.

The minor differences I was speaking of are the 3 holes on the top front of the frame horns. After 69 or 70, the rear most driver's side was elongated. You won't even use that one. I also recall that either 67 and/or 68 may or may not have had the large hole on the inside of each frame horn near the front.

I have personally checked the 73/74 Novas and they are the same subframe. Those cars have a funky front bumper mounting bracket, but still the same frame. Others subs from Venturas and Apollos will work, but those have some weird brackets welded to the cross member for the engine mounting. Those brackets can be ground off.

For what it is worth, these subframes (bare) as of 2 years ago were going for $60 at the California pick-n-pulls. A complete sub was going for $120.

Another place to consider is GM Sports of San Jose, California. Their standard price was about $250 a couple of years ago. There was also an equal shipping charge.
