Hi. I have heard that some of you guys here may be able to point me in the right direction in my search for an original dealer badge from Bill Kuhn Chevrolet out of Indianapolis. In 1967 Bill Kuhn prepped my car for the 500 and I am restoring it. I have a local Indianapolis dealer who has agreed to reproduce the emblem once found as he too has a Bill Kuhn prepped Pacer. Any leads on finding, buying or even borrowing an emblem would be much appreciated. In all honesty I am not even sure of what it looks like and could well be a decal instead of the assumed white metal emblem style. In the interests of other 67 Pace Car owners I would ask if anyone takes the time to look if they could also include Johnson Chevrolet and Nankivell Chevrolet in their search.. Both of these were Indianapolis prepping dealers as well. Thanks in advance, Tom McGinnity camaropacecars dot com http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/CharleySucks.gif

PS I sent letters to over 30 Indianapolis area junkyards in search of a used one and received no reponses..odd?

Nankivell did not install dealer badges according to my conversations with Morgan Nankivell - the last surviving family member involved with the Nankivell dealerships. Nankivell used a license plate frame, in old english script, red if chevrolet and black if oldsmobile.

There were two different Nankivell Chev. frames that we know of:

I forgot to include this Nankivell advertisement from 1969. It shows that they also sold some of the '69 IPC's, but also a replica Daytona Citrus 250 car - not sure what that is, but....

Says they had 60 Camaros in stock http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Humm.....Don did win the Daytona Citrus 250 in 1969, in a white Camaro. It would be interesting to know more about the replica listed for sale in the ad. Wonder how many Yenko made?

I just thought of something, maybe the 'Yenko' Camaro's were considered Citrus 250 replicas?

Could be. Would make for an interesting marketing tool.

Yea..Anyway you can help I'm interested in. I will say that I visited with Andy Wolf who owns Bud Wolf Chevy that WAS Bill Kuhn and they have nothing..No old inventory etc. My thought was some old secret junkyard that may have a car that still wears the badge, sticker or plate frame..I've searched Ebay etc for years with only minimal results( other dealer items like matches, cigar lighters and pamphlets). Like I said, I sent letters to every junkyard in the phone book with zero replies.. Any help appreciated for sure

FWIW...Be patient..You will find it.It took me almost 20 years to find the dealer badge for my Camaro.I had to buy a Corvair to get it..Never did get the Corvair, just had him send me the badge....LOL..I looked on eBay at least three times a day... every day... for years..Then BINGO....It's out there....Just keep diggin..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Oh yeah, one more idea....Run an add in the local paper looking for anything pertaining to this dealer. I ran one is WV and was surprised at what turned up...I had a buddy run one looking for dealer stuff for his Chevelle. Someone answered and had a old billboard 20' x 80' ....You find crazy stuff this way.....I tried the junk yards and their way too lazy to look...Maybe time for a road trip..

Someone had mentioned a guy on this site was into dealer badges and may have leads to collectors? Any clue who this guy is?
