Does someone have an exact description of the 67 L78 fan clutch.
Or, maybe one of these is correct? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If it's like a 67 Z fan clutch,

Hi Peter. Your fan clutch has the rectangular tab across the center but it's otherwise quite different from the Z/L78 fan clutch. Compare the two pictures again:

I do believe the Solid lifter engines in 1967,used a different Fan Clutch then the Hydra lifter engines.
If the difference between these two clutches isn't that, then it's probably different Manufacturing plants making the same part.

Up at Corvettes at Carlisle this week, i saw a bunch of clutches with the same face as those 67 Z/28's. (pretty cheap too)
However I believe the hub size was different. That design was used on the 72-73 Corvettes.
Had 3.25 for the fan, but hub was the large size for the long water pumps.
Or were those right?

I looked a little deeper and found these 2.
Big spacing for the fan, small spacing for the pump.
Are these them? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Hard to tell from the blurry photos. The starbust seems to match on the one in the foreground--is the outer edge grooved as in my picture in the earlier post?

The edges do not looked grooved liked the one in the earler post.

My good camera broke last week - those were with my phone. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
No - The edges are not grooved. I noticed that also. Too bad.
Back to the drawing board - I have one more place to look.
At least I found 2 more 772 fans I didn't know I had.

Is either one of these fan clutches the correct one for a 68 Chevelle L78?

I have another here that is dated 69 that is attached to "772" fan. Would it be correct for a 69 L78? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif
