I talked to him earlier this week for some other parts but did'nt mention the steering shaft. I'll call him Monday.
Do you know if the 68 and 69 pieces are the same Rick???

Yes..68-72 BB Chevelles shared this same shaft,part #7802933.
Make sure it has collapsable pins installed.
