This may beat the l-72 NOS air cleaner that went for 4000.00. Is it that rare. I remember one on a 66 chevelle that looked something like this.

Yeah Bill, I tried, but I couldn't get it done before the crazy money started http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I stumbled across this at 12 minutes into the auction by a fluke, but the seller wanted to let the auction run. Last year these breathers were about $3,000...this year, there are a couple of guys who will pay anything to get a '67 Z-28 part (and I'd bet this breather gets a little sheet metal modification and ends up on a '67 in the end). My crystal ball says if the right guys jump into this feeding frenzy...$5,000! Same situation as Charley's fan...I would have guessed $500 tops last year if it had the clutch...obviously, I would have been wrong!

I'm glad I got my cowl plenum breather last year and it's sitting here waiting to go on my Black Z http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Ed, I sold a 68 Cowl Plenum unit (in very nice shape) about 3 or so years ago for something close to 2400.00 if that helps place a value on this thing. As to Mark I will PM you with info.

Ed, no I don't know who that is, but I'll bet that the winner of the auction hasn't even bid yet!

Oh.....these parts are getting out of control and too rich for me as the average collector!!!

How does a working man make a living doing this?

Bill - thanks for the reference point - this unit is NOS so im sure we will see the 5-6K point.

BTW, those 68 door hinges you sold me are getting installed on the restoration as we speak...thanks again.

The '66 L72 air cleaner went for $4,550.00 if I remember correctly. This one could top it.

I'm shocked that you boys let that one go so cheap???? With $1,600 fans and $500 rally wheels, I thought this would have been $5,000 all day long! What a crazy hobby this is http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Agree, I would have bid on it, but was uncomforatble with bids....i dont think these were real bids (ie..the(o) bidder) and with your post above, i do think there was a scam running here....IMO only. A fair price it did go for as a rare part -for sure.

Like the silver grill NOS that went big money - u can tell the bidders were serious - as we know who is real by their ID!

Will keep looking around - part of fun is the hunt sometimes!

I didnt bid on it because I'm with ED on this. Someone possibly bidding it up or maybe a scam. That thing was too good to be true and now with all the second chance deals, I'm glad I didnt. My car can live without the cowl plenum. Maybe it is more unique without it as I see alot of them with that. I do think it is cool to have it though.

I did find an NOS RS grille emblem yesterday, one more thing off the list.

There are a lot of Second Chance Offers going out that are total scams. Be careful. Don't click on any links in the email. Forward it to ebay at [email protected]. Just forward it, don't add any text to it.

Here's one for you. I've been getting a lot of these messages from my firewall on my computer.

"A computer at i7.ebayimg.com has attempted an unsolicited connection to TCP port 4240 on your computer."

Now what the heck is that all about!?!?!?
