I would be very surprised if they bring over $400-$500 on Ebay. Small block covers are not in high demand, but certainly are rare. hose covers need a lot of work to bring them back. I see the original BB sets going in the $500-$1000+ range.

I sent Steve numerous PM's regarding the valve covers. I bought near perfect sbc MP valve covers for $300 and cannot foresee these being worth the coin. The valve covers are not worth much because they are still produced today by Mr. Gasket (I think) and are readily available.

I think anything over $250 is too much. You'd get more money selling the emblems... which I told Steve I'd have NO issue taking off his hands... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Sorry to deliver bad news but those valve covers are not originals. Those Motion name plates look like they just came out of a box.

I disagree. I compared these to originals I have and they match up just fine.

Even if they are original, what would you put them on? Maybe a Motion Vega? Does anybody know anybody that has a SB Motion car? Going to spend 3-$400 or whatever to hang on your wall? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gifhttp://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Sam, we musn't forget MP sold hundreds if not more of these valve covers to the public through mail order and catalog purchases. It was common to see these sbc and bbc "Motion" emblemed valve covers on anything from Camaros to 442s. I want to throw a good set on my Camaro, I think they would look good!

Yes they do look GOOD! But why would you spend 3-4 hundred or whatever to put them on a non Motion car? Buy repops. JMO. Especially on pro street or street rods. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

My vote is Real. They compare nicely to a real set of BB motion covers I have. I think we see fakes so often that the real ones don't look "right".

the old orange painted valve covers have what look to correct repo's. the above motor with blower has newer fake motion valve covers. Joel bought the covers and his MOTION labels were applied to those covers. The newer fakes have the MOTION embossed in cover. Maybe if that is a real small block motion car above a trade can be worked out for the correct covers.
the only small block Motion Cars I remember were Vegas

I seem to remember reading about Motion building a Z30 camaro. Basicly was a Z with an off road Z cam, scorpion, corner to corner intake, and 850 holley. Recurved distributer, suspension mods etc. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

You know Joe, maybe Marty should contact you for some additional info for his book. In addition to historical and technical information you could provide, there should be a special first hand account from an original owner included. NOT TO MENTION, you still own the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Hey, FYI, Rayburn Penningtons 73 Manta Ray Corvette that was at the last Supercar Reunion is a documented Small Block Motion car.

As far as I have ever seen, all the real documented Motion Corvette's that came from Motion had small blocks.

Not a very informative post http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I know of the Phase III big block corvettes, I guess I should have put some more qualifiers in that statement of mine... was feeling "spunky" at the time of posting though http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
