1969 Camaro Assembly Line Paint ?

Its my understanding that the original assembly line process was to mate the painted front sheet metal to the painted cab. My question has to do with how the front sheetmetal was painted, specifically the overspray on the insides of the fenders / lower valance and fender extensions. How extensive was it? Were all the clips and bolts oversprayed with body color also?
Was the rear axle / brake drums painted as a assembly?

Front sheet metal was painted on a buck that left about 2" spacing between the edges of the panels... the overspray on the edges of the front feders which were in the engine compartment was not complete from what I have seen...

The rear end came assembled from the manufacturer and they were painted... there was a tube that was slid over the input yolk to keep paint off of the u-joint mount, and also the e-brake cables were covered to keep excessive overspray off of them.

This topic was recently discussed at length on the CRG.

Very little, if any overspray got into the underside of the
fanders. Little to nothing was on the inside of the lower
valance. From my understanding, all inside surfaces were
the black dipped primer.
