Today was a long one........Anyhow...the ASSC Racing guy's I know are the #1 qualifiers.....on a slick track and into a strong headwind they ran a 6.54 @ 215 spinning the tires on every gearshift.....the car ran a best of 6.34 @ 220 this year.........Here's a link to the 6.54 run

This car had a life of about 6 seconds after the second picture.....It got loose and ended up over the guard rail and held up racing for 2 hours until they repaired the rail

Yeah......there was "Serious" Horsepower there......The Turbo cars are neat, but they had a hard time making down the track........

Nothing on the Camaro, but the 55 was I believe from New York and ran in the mid 8's as I recall......It is a "Killer" car built with "Detail"

2003 Won Super Pro
2004 Didn't Go
2005 Runner-Up in Super Pro
2006 Won Super Pro Again

And in IHRA Pro Stock, they had the points lead until the last race of the year and finished 1 round short of the Championship......They finished in second place 15 points behind........

A little update on the ASSC Mustang.......After finishing 1 round short(15 points) of winning the IHRA ProStock Championship, The Orlando race was the last event that this team would be running at........Timmy had had enough (read$$$$$$$) of Pro Racing and put the car up for Sale.............I talked to Tony the other day and he told me what happened on his last pass ever in the car......It was the Final Round of Elimination and he was up against Chuck Samuels for the win in Super Pro......
Chuck shook the tires on the launch and got out of it...Tony was making a hard pass and at about the 1200 ft point he kicked a Rod out of the Engine (815 c.i. of Jon Kaase Power $90,000 )........Took everything out except one head and the Intake.......They won the $10,000 and trashed the Engine.........Timmy sold the Car as a Roller without the Drivetrain...........What a way to end.......That's Racing.........

Hey Michael or Kwhizz...did any of you guys see any small displacement (4 or 6 cyliner) blower or turbo cars? If so, any chance you remember what tranny they were running? I'd assume automatic, but see any sticks? The reason I ask, we're hoping to put together a turbo'd 4-banger, and I'm debating on trannies...engine guy says stick due to low torque, but 99% of turbo cars I've seen at MMP ran spooled the turbo up on the converter? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Rob.........4 cyl Turbo cars normally run a 5 speed G-Force transmission.......If you need info give Jimmy Quinn a call at Chassis Service 847-336-2305......He does lot's of those little cars
