Here is a post I made several months ago and here are some pictures of what was just notice on the back of the block. Any thoughts." I just found a former owner of a project 375/396 4sp Nova, I've had about a year. He sold the car in the early 90's. He said the car spent some of it's early life somewhere around the north shore area of New Jersey. He bought it from a guy who had owned it since the mid 70's This guy had always claimed the car was a Baldwin Motion car. The block and heads are correct for the car and still retains the original pad stamp that matches the car. The front of both heads and the block have been stamped 3305. The block is still standard bore and complete. I know everyone in that part of the country claimed their car was a B/M., but this guy seems to be a straight shooter. He said the guy he had purchased the car from called a few years ago to try and buy it back. So does the 3305 stamped on the block mean anything to anyone? m "

Very cool...love how it's hidden when installed! .
On other known cars of Joel's w/ paperwork, is there Work Order numbers in a similar range to the 3305? .
Are there pics of the car you can share yet, what's the hood situation...and is it a '69 or '70? .

It was a rare option, but Joel did perform some "Secret Motion" up grades on those 230 six bangers. The NOS is hidden inside the TCS switch..I only have the 250hp stage 2 setup..the stage 3 required special suspension and chassis modifications. Power shifting a 3 on the tree is a trip!!

Here is a picture on the car on the trailer , just after I made it home. Notice the rearend cover. The intake is an after market unit that had the plenum divider cut out near the rear for a 3 barrel carb. When I found the guy who owned it in the 80's he said it weird traction bars on it at that time.

Is this a common trend throughout all MP cars?

If there were more cars from which to draw conclusions it may be easier to id them, but as it stands there were so few built (plus very few were alike, because they were built to customer spec) that it would be awfully hard to draw conclusions and apply them uniformly across the board.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif In conclusion there is just not enough data to make a statistical analysis.

Joel did not comment on any specific part just on the pictures and information as a whole. I guess it takes about 1500.00 to be given more critical answers. I don't blame him for wanting the fee for documentation. He would stay busy all day with people wanting their cars looked over. There's no doubt, he will not give you a yes or no answer with out the fee. m

PeteLeathersac
10-24-2006, 06:35 PM
I expect Joel doesn't lead guys into shelling out the $1500 unless he feels a good possibility of being able to provide the documents for what he sees? .

If you do pass him the dough and he knows you're serious, will he answer general questions on other things such as the stampings etc. or just document and discuss your specific car? .
