70's vid, rocket car trying to jump a river.

I dont ever recall this cowboy, pretty wild, he thought he was going to jump the St. Laurence?? river in a rocket powered 70's Lincoln.

I think that's 'Rocket Man' Ken Carter! . He grew up doing stunts at fairs etc. with a friend of mine but was killed right here in Peterboro' about 1983? .

I was there that night and watched him make his 'final' jump...and not to be cruel but seriously the guy had more nuts than brains! .
Even the 'experts' he had around him seemed foolish to let him attempt the jump with the equipment and set-up he was using! . The death night he was jumping an '82 and up Firebird that looked like the roll bar was made of exhaust tubing...the ramp had a big hook at the end pointing almost straight up to 'perfect' his previous attempt at the same spot where he was too horizontal? . Well they put too much rocket fuel in the car...it kept blasting for an extra few seconds after lift off from the ramp almost straight up and as it ran out of fuel at about 150 ft? did a perfect inversion and fell all the way onto it's roof. . With the 'heavy duty' roll bar the car was perfectly flat on the roof, a loader flipped it over and you can guess the rest. .

I should've read the link first myself...it says some buddy stole the car and was the unsucessful jumper...sure looks like Carter himself to me??

what had me rolling was the two.. phft..phft puff's out of the motor as it was floating in mid air and tossing parts, I noticed his wings didnt stay on to well either http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.
