I was finally able to meet up with the original owner of my Biscayne this past month on my way back from Alaska. We spent an entire day talking about the car and it's history. I tell you what --- there is no exhilaration like talking to an original owner. VERY cool !!

Anyhoo - In talking with him, the topic of a dealer emblem came up. He recalls specifically telling the dealer (Jay-Shon) to leave the emblem off. They obliged. Does anyone happen to have a pic of a Jay-Shon emblem -- '68 vintage ? Since it didn't have one to begin with, I'm not concerned with finding an actual emblem (although that would be cool). I'd just like to see what one looked like.

Its buried right now, but I do have one... give me a day or 2 to dig it up. Here's a "partial" pic of it... second one down on the right. Very similar to a Jay Kline badge in font and size.

They sold a '68 L79 Nova as well, once owned by TommyK in NJ, had super paperwork from the dealer http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

From what I understand from my original owner was that there was a sales guy there that really wanted to push performance cars to the young guys. He let him buy the Biscayne with basically no money down and not much of a job. He traded in a '66 BB Vette as the only form of collateral. There was a 2nd '68 L-72 Biscayne that also came out of Jay-Shon. It was ordered to compete with mine apparently. It was gray, and virtually identical to mine except that it didn't have door frame bright work.

I've talked to the son of the original owner of the dealership. I'm patiently waiting on word back about any old paperwork that may be in a storage facility that they maintain. X your fingers ......

Jeff,

Is that the green one with the black roof? Should be neat when done. How's my old red one doing?

Earl has done that many times for me. Some of the stuff he has tried to give me was quite valuable. Definitely a true hobbiest!

Charley,
I still want your old burnish brown nova. But I still do not have any money. Some times matching the right person to a junk yard find. Is better then ebay. Earl

I took a pic of a mid 60's Chevrolet shortbed in West Seattle last year. This dealer emblem is what caught my eye. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2016/12/full-20275-53356-p9070764_480x640.jpg

I'd love to know the backstory that took her from Sioux Falls to Seattle. Excellent picture.
