For anyone thinking about calling on the car, here are a few more details. Not original tranny, distributor, carb, pulleys, no smog etc. Original panels, but patches in fenders and quarters, small hole in driver's floor currently. AM/FM (missing), PB, remote mirror, cowl hood, 4.10, auto ('75 tranny in it now). Steve is pretty firm on his price and doesn't need to sell it. Has POP, but engine assembly date is 0324 and motor stamping is 0328 (from his memory - he will recheck). He is going to send me some pics of the pad etc. Engine rebuilt with 14 passes and about 200 miles on it. He uses the car for factory appearing drag racing primarily. Steve seems like a nice guy who is very forthcoming about the condition of the car etc.

Possibly there is an explanation on this Ls6 that would warrant having a POP and block stamp date that didnt match,it wouldnt be the first Ls6 that had that discrepancy . Like the 67Z that was just for sale there are sometimes explanations when things just dont seem to line up.

Could be...Steve is a Pontiac guy and told me that he didn't even both to check the numbers on the POP when he got the car. He also told me that the car was from an Ohio dealer, but was registered to a person in TN on the POP, so I first thought that it was a replacement POP. However, I had him look for the engine code etc. and it was on there. I didn't bother him with more questions and decided to wait to see the pics etc - also, I thought the price was a little strong for the condition etc. of the car. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by the pics http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes, Steve sent me an email and said that is him and the car. He is sending the engine shots to me tomorrow. Is there anyone in the Long Island area available to hire to view the car for me? No need to be an LS6 expert, just need a "car guy"s" eyes. Happy to pay for your time and expenses. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
