I did the only sane thing to do and grafted a Muncie handle to a Hurst box. If you intend to drive your car, as we do, the Muncie shifter is a bad idea. A missed shift or two gears engaged at the same time can get very expensive. From what I gather, the repros are no better than the originals. A shifter that works, can't be that hard to design. Hurst has been doing it right forever. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sam, Keith is correct about making the hybrid unit using the Muncie handle on a Hurst assembly...best way to go for street use. If you need some Muncie shifters redone I suggest Ray Williams from Oklahoma..."Old School Chevy Ray"....is his nickname. I will dig out contact info and post it for you....he really knows his stuff!!

Will be using one of the cars for modest street use only. The other nearly never because car is not/will not be registered for road use as title is still in original owner's name. I sent an email to Chevy Ray using ;

Sam, are the shifters 3 or 4 speed? Camaro, Chevelle, Nova?
I might be able to help if still in need.
