Do you guys know what a set of M&H Slicks are worth? The steel wheels are included. I think they said Race Master on the sides. Thanks Kelly

Thanks Guys, I can buy them for $500 plus shipping. I think that seems pretty fair. Do they make these anymore?

They no longer make the ones pictured. Those are '69-'70-'71 vintage. Those brought that kind of money because they are new (old).

You are not stealing them at $500.00. But if you need them.....go for it! Once they are mounted and hit the asphalt they are no longer NOS in my opinion. Very nice tires and the ones everybody used in those days! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Sam, you raise a valid point. I have no idea what condition the slicks are in that Parnelli is looking at, but those that I pictured are (were) brand new.
I feel that anyone who puts those on his car has the right to say they are NOS. That separates them from something used by someone else. Knowing that this was the first time they were ever mounted on wheels is something special. It's no different than someone who finds an NOS intake manifold, puts it on his car and drives to a show. I think he has the right to say that it's "NOS". Sure, it's not still in the box, never having fuel or water in it, but it was brand new to that car. If a guy is lucky enough to find an NOS set of mags for his car, I feel he has the right to point to them on the car and say "they're NOS". That's just my view anyway.
Or perhaps one could say, "that was NOS". Now, if the guy wants to do a burn-out and scrub off the original shipping labels, that's up to him, but they're still "new".
No argument, just a comment. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What size are they? That would play a big factor, as I have yet to see any size mentioned for any of these... I wanted a pair of 14" ones that would fit under the fenders of a stock Nova using stock 7" wide XT wheels. They are like hen's teeth to find compared to larger ones. Seems any 14" vintage slick is a tough find.

Joe,
Those are 7.10-30.5 x 15" 130 compound.
If you're looking for a set of period 14s, I probably have some, and I planned to sell them. I just have to dig them out and see exactly what's there.

Verne. The company that bought M&H Tire from Marvin is currently reproducing the old style 1200x16 slicks for Vintage Dragsters. I talked to the guys who run the Orange 33? Willys called something like"Boss Hydro". He told me he got his M&H's from this company which I believe is down south. I checked the M&H website a while ago and only saw the 1200x16 currently available. Hopefuly they will make them in 15's if were lucky. I thought Marvin still had all the molds for these and possibly sold them to the new owners. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I'd have to agree. There's a possibility that the old molds were saved. But then, there's always the space concern, and back then we were always looking for the next new and better thing, whatever it was. We ALL threw away too much stuff because we "knew" it was useless compared to the better stuff!! It took us all this long to realize that those were the years we want to relive, and have everything just as it was then!

Thats the car I was talking about. It runs a big Hemi on Alky or Nitro. Don't think 35 year old M&H's would be safe on that beast. Saw him run at E-town and Beaver Springs this Summer. He runs the 1200x16 M & H Racemasters that are exactly like the 69-71 era slicks. There out of Marvin's molds. The company is called Interco Tire from Louisiana
www.intercotire.com (http://www.intercotire.com) Click on M&H Drag Slicks and scroll down till you see 1200x16 Nostalgia. Interco says they bought out Marvins M&H Tire co in 2001.
Who wants to call them and ask if they'll make up some 14" and 15" Racemasters? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I'd buy a pair if they looked like the originals posted at the beginning of the thread.
