Got my Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale '07 80 page "Sneak Peek" catalog in the mail today. Lotsa neat cars, as usual. When I got to page 45, I was pretty surprised to see a picture of my car - with my house in the background - and the description of it, being offered as Lot #440 to be auctioned on Wednesday. Aren't you remotely interested in how B-J came across images
of your particular car? I sure would be ! I assume you are
not selling you car through their auction. I would certainly
contact them and find out why & where they got your car's

I would say that several of their ads would have what could best be described as "file photos" that they got from somewhere. If I recall, the Ray Allen Chevelle from last year was not a picture of the actual car, but a close facsimile in stock trim.

This particular photo of my car is currently available to view (or download to a computer http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif ) on both this site (in Members Rides) and on Team Chevelle (January 2003 Feature Car), so it's no real mystery. I did send an email to B-J so we'll see what they have to say, if anything.

Yes, I wonder how many more photos in that booklet have been 'appropriated' from other sources http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif My gut feeling is that B-J themselves is the guilty party here, in the interest of providing as many photos as possible in their promotional literature. If the seller had actually supplied them with that picture, they would probably have it on the website along with the description of the car, too, and that's not the case.

Bill...why do I have the feeling that the car that's actually up for sale at BJ is the one that went though last year? Why wouldn't they use the photos that they already had of that car?
