While going through a box of old photos, I came across what looks to be a 68 Nickey Camaro. I took these photos at the Hot Rod Supercruise in Portland, Oregon in 1983 or 1984.
If it belongs to someone here, I have the negatives and can supply prints. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c155/StriperSS/My%20Cars/Camaro.jpg

No, I'm not sure. That was 22 or 23 years ago. It may have been a Dana. I put it up here in case someone had the car now, and wanted a little photo history on it.

I took the negatives in this morning to get larger prints made. I'll rescan and post them later today. Hopefully, they'll be clearer.

I believe it used to belong to Dwayne. He worked at Lincolns Auto Wreckers and Corvettes. Lincolns was a big junk yard in Seattle owned by two Brothers or Brother-In-Laws.They both Owned the junk yard and Ed Lincoln owned the Towing Company. If memory serves me Right The Camaro was a Dana, it was an Impound and Dwayne bought it from the Lincolns. The Camaro Had a 427, Dual Quads, M-22 and 4:56s. I think Dwayne sold it in the Mid 80s for $20 or $25K.

Not quite life sized, but much clearer now. It does say Nickey on the hood, which will further confuse things. I know nothing about this car, but at the time I knew what the significance of Nickey Chevrolet was. I was impressed enought to take 4 photos, which was a compliment to the owner.

crud...ok I will dig out the add tomorrow and scan it, could be his car, the dope driving does kinda resemble him, but I only saw the car in pure stock form except for the supposed conversion from Nickey, it even had 14x6 Rallys with low mile redlines on it, until he put the JL-8 rear in then they wouldnt fit, so he went with steelies and GM wire hubcaps.
I wish I could have gotten to the Z sooner it had a ton of cool stuff but he parted it out fast, I got the motor out of it the rest scattered all over town, I have always wondered about that car, it was pretty unmolsted just tired, wish we could decode stuff back then.

I spoke to the owner of this car first in the late 90's, and, he is a great guy. He has owned it since about 1980, and, has original paperwork from Bill Thomas, where the original owner ordered the car to be built as a Stage III Nickey Camaro. It had, and still has, original stickers from both Nickey and Bill Thomas Engineering. The hood was installed by Thomas, along with the Nickey emblems, and, a Nickey dealer sticker. The scoops on the hood are open in both the front and rear. Terry Hatcher would say it's real, and, it's awesome!

What? Are you saying a Camaro ordered through, built and sold by Bill Thomas came with Nickey stickers, emblems and paperwork? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
A really neat car to say the least. Surprised it is not in your stable, or Bimbis.

I wanted to blow it up enough to see if I could read the decals on the 1/4 windows. They may have been Thomas decals.
I grew up in Vancouver, B.C.,and don't think I had ever seen a Nickey, Yenko, or Motion car before this, and that's why I took more than one photo. It had a pretty healthy idle to it too.

If you are looking at the ones in the drivers quarter window, I was thinking these were maybe some early ISCA show car decals. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I normally dont save stuff like this but for some reason saved this ad from the auto trader it was on the same page as a 67 RS/SS 350 car I bought at the time and saved that pic as well. oh and about 99.9% sure this was spring '84

Cool stuff. I'm thinking it's the same car.
As far as the color, it looks black in the photos I have, but it has a blue cast to it.
On further inspection under a bright light, the rear shot definitely looks blue.
Anyway, if someone here has it, I can surface mail the photos.

You must be correct.
I [Think?] I saw this car on display at the World of Wheels CAR show at the Seattle Center Coliseum in the fall of 1985. I thought it had a tri-power set up but can not recall. I can not remember if it was a 67 or 68? is'nt there a Blue 67 tri-power Nickey car around?
The display was very interesting reading the history [Nickey].
The car was for sale at that time $25k. I could not believe that someone would ask such a price http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Seems the bargin now 20/20.
I had just purchased my 68 SS/RS for gas crunch prices http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
No photos, except of a few Chrome queens from that show.
Very nice car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

It's so unusual to have a Bill Thomas Nickey RS/SS vinyl top. They were usually plain jane cars. 2x4 intake would make it a stage III version, which would also make it very very rare. I doubt that more than 7 were made.
