We have all done that Rick. I drove by a 65 Impala SS everyday going to work for 3 years, stopped at the bottom of the drive way no big block flags on the fenders from 700 feet away so on we went.
Found out after he sold it for peanuts and it was a factory fitted numbers matching 409, 4spd with 22,000 original miles
