Not sure if you guys consider a LS5 El Camino a muscle car but I need help in determining a value for the following:

1970 LS5 El Camino, bonni beige/black bench, TH400, 3.31 posi, a/c, ps, pb, am/fm, restored, POP, 2 build sheets, copies of owner titles back to new. Factory original, #'s matching drive train. Things not correc: hooker headers, ss exhaust, valve covers, radiator, shocks. Car runs and drives great and everything works.

A few more details will most likely give you a more accurate estimate. Is the car code 50 Gobi Beige? A few more details regarding the restoration would also help such as frame off or not......drivetrain components rebuilt or not....pictures would also be help with an estimate of value due to the level of restoration.

One more note: the car currently has a square port alum. intake and Holley 4 bbl; I do have the original cast iron intake, Rochester 4MV carb. and fuel pump. (for those ready to pounce on the engine pic http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif )

SS El Caminos represent an outstanding value compared to SS Chevelles, usually 1/3 to 1/2 the price, including LS-6s and L-78s.

IMHO, you can usually pick up a nice one for much less than it cost to restore it.

Good luck, BCD.

I'm a sucker for Whiteline tires on Gobi Beige. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Add a replacement master cylinder,1971 License plate, remove those plastic cowl grates, missing TCS,wrong W/S washer pump,no radiator cooling label and the underside of the hood incorrectly painted body color to the incorrect list.
All easy fixes.
Kudos to the restorer for including the correct CHEVROLET grille emblem, and not making the common mistake of putting on CHEVELLE.
I'd value it as it sits now at $28-35K,w/o seeing it in person.
I personally would like to own this Elco if you pass on it.
