My father looked at this 67 chevelle convertible today. I really don't have much info on it because I didn't look at it. Just going on what he told me. It is a SS clone but it has a 396 that was in it and a rebuilt turbo 400 that goes with the car. The motor and transmission are currently out of the car. It will need quarters or maybe just patches. The trunk and frame are in real nice shape from what my father could see it was tucked away in a garage. It will need a front drivers side floor pan other than that the floors a perfect he said. Fenders and doors look good. It has a new black convertible top that is on the car. The interior is out of the car and the owner has everything. It is a bench seat car. I have been looking for another project and I really don't know much about chevelle's and what they are worth. I am looking for some help on how to identify what the car came with. If I get the vin number will it tell me what motor was in the car and the options etc. My father said it isn't a 138 vin code. It was a 136 he thought. The car is red with black interior and a black top. We are not sure if that is the original color. Does the car have a cowl tag that would tell me what the original color was. I am going to look at it next Sunday. I know its hard to price a car with out seeing pictures but a 67 chevelle convertible BB SS clone could be a cool car to have in the collection. So from the description above what do you guys think it is worth.

Well I just bought My next car to restore. A 67 chevelle convertible it is not a 138 code SS just a standard Malibu. It is barn fresh and it has been off the road since 1986. It had a 427 in it at one time. Someone put all the super sport emblems on it along with the hood. The car is in real nice shape. The top is perfect. It will need the front floor pans replaced and one spot in the trunk. It will need some body work but not much. Mostly in the back quarters. It came with a 68 3935440 396 325hp motor and it is complete from carb to oil pan. Also a rebuilt turbo 400 to go along with it. The only question I have about the body tag is the R2 Does this stand for red with a black top. If some one can tell me what the numbers on the right side of the cowl tag mean that would help. This is what I found so far.
10a /october 1st week
761 /black vinyl
ST-67 13667 BAL Malibu /2dr convertible/ Baltimore plant

Thanks Jason

Dang Bill, your good!

Jason - nice ride. I believe I see the same potential you do. That color combo is a beauty. I don't speak 67-cowl-tag so I don't know if that is how it left the factory.

Good luck with it and let us know how its coming. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I just found that link thanks.
I will be starting this project in a couple of months. I have my 68 bb nova apart for a couple detailing upgrades. As soon as it is together this one will be next. I will keep everyone posted on the project.
