Pretty cool topic! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Also a great place to ask I question that I have often wondered about. Who was the very first to use a shaker hood? Was it the Mustang Mach 1's in 69 or a Trans Am or what?
By the way the 1970 Mopar "Air Grabber" hoods are cool! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

What a fantastic topic! A cold/fresh air indution system was almost always a feature on most musclecars. Very difficult to pick one, but I'd have to say my favorite would be the 68-69 L-88 Corvette hood with the element that stays in the hood when it is open. Now that's a big bulge that lets everyone know that you have something very special!

Tough one as there's sooo many but ZL2's aside, here's my condensed list...
'70/'73 Formula...'74 & up sucks in comparison! .
'67 SS427 Impala...style kind've stolen from the '63 S.O. Vettes? .
'70 442/W30...don't like the 71/72 w/ grille indent as much! .
'65/'66 Vette Mk1V's...'67's became too common? .
...if Dream cars count, it's the '53 Wildcat hands down! . It's sure a design-style that became common enough also pretty subtle for such a boat...especially for the early fifties! .
Weren't those scoops on Bob's choice '63 Poncho really a Ford sourced item? .
Where's the rear spoiler thread? .

I've sat back and heard all the other nominations. Hammer, I have to agree, that the hood on the '68 Motion is the BEST of them all.........considering the entire look of the car with it. BUT, it's NOT a factory hood.
My ballott HAS to go to the Roadrunner 69.5 440 3x2 lift-off. No other FACTORY hood has stated that presence of power under it as that hood did!!!!
The Hurst Olds long dual snorkle hood was the next choice of giving the appeal that something very sinister lurked under it, but a look at the overall car, which looked like a fat overweight stripper in a gold-stretched G-string cancelled the adrenalin rush from the hood.
just my opinion.
